Northern Star Sheffield University

Hi! I can't wait to share my story with you. Honestly, it's been a long time since I've talked to someone as curious and full of questions as you. Let's take a stroll through my hallways and witness together the beautiful moments when my star shone brightly.

This magnificent red building you see first began educating young people as a medical school in 1828. Let's face it, it's hard not to be impressed by its architecture! It makes your heart race the moment you see it. You know, I overheard my students talking about it amongst themselves. To be honest, young people excite me too. And not only do they excite me, they make me very proud. For example, thanks to my students' work, 99% of my research is recognized internationally as successful and considered world-leading according to the Research Excellence Framework.

In the building you see on your left, Sir Howard Florey, the inventor of penicillin, also received his education. He had a brilliant mind and made a name for himself worldwide by winning the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1945. Of course, Florey is not my only Nobel laureate; I have had eight other Nobel Prize winners in various fields. Moreover, it's not just my graduates who win awards; my academics also achieve worldwide success by always maintaining their passion. For example, Professor George Porter! He was one of my esteemed professors who both encouraged his students and made me proud, and he conducted groundbreaking work on instantaneous light photolysis in my chemistry department.

Enough about medicine and medical sciences, isn't it? I should tell you a little about the social sciences! My students studying in the Social Sciences, Literature, and Humanities faculties have completely different passions and ideals! Their way of thinking and perspectives particularly impress me, and I love listening to their conversations. Sometimes they sit on the grass sharing their dreams for the future, and other times they have heated discussions about books they've borrowed from my library. It's thanks to their diverse thinking and variety that I'm able to rank among the top 15 universities in the UK. My students are incredibly happy to be here, and I realized this once again through the Times Higher Education Student Experience survey, one of the world's most prestigious ranking organizations. The survey results showed that I was chosen as the university offering the best student experience in the UK!

A significant factor in achieving these results is that Sheffield is a friendly, warm, and vibrant city! Like my students, it's dynamic, and its natural beauty and cultural life more than meet the expectations of young people. Frankly, I'm also very happy to be located in the heart of the UK. My location allows my students to easily balance their social and academic lives.

I hope you enjoyed our conversation. I would love to tell you much more and meet you in person! If you would like to come here and become my student, you can contact my official representative, EDUKAS. ContactYou can pass.
